Why a basket?
We saw that people were moving into e m p t y houses, like really empty.
Joy, a senior woman and her adult son Jason (who was also her caregiver) moved in with nothing. They were overjoyed to have a roof over their heads, but on a fixed income they didn't know how they would accumulate all the supplies they needed to thrive in their new housing. It wasn't a home yet, just a couple rooms.
We were so thrilled to be able to bring them a Welcome Home Basket, bedding, and beds. We were able to do this because our neighbors, people like you, donated money to fund this crucial piece of the housing puzzle.
Here's what's in a Welcome Home basket, which costs us an average of $80 per household (where else could someone get all this for that amount!?):

- Toothbrush
- Tooth paste

- Feminine hygiene products, if applicable
